How do you keep the passion fire burning during the colder months?

By July 23, 2015July 10th, 2018Business Tips

Want to know how to keep taking action when you would rather stay in bed with electric blanket?

Nipple warmers, toast with peanut butter, hot cups of tea. The nutty aroma of the wheat bag warming or the filling of the hottie (No not the gym instructor!) These images conjour up staying warm, more time inside, being more restful, lazy, comforting images and the realisation that winter is here, we are in the belly of the winter beast.

Biting your finger nails down to the bone won’t solve that ” I know what to do, but why isn’t it working” issue you have. When you walked into running your own business (or maybe you said yes to an idea in a carpark talking to a school friend?! #truestory) It becomes your full time job to keep recognising why you are procrastinating. The ability to quickly become aware of your inaction and messing about will keep the money flowing, the clogs turning and the overwhelm family at bay.

So how do we keep the passion we had from the summer. You know the one, the one where you felt warm, social and lapping up the longer days. Where you felt less inner criticism towards the work you produced…

Here are three actions you can take to keep your fire burning!
  1. Putting yourself first. When you do that and have ample rest, time for creation and your own tank is full, your decision making is snapper. Get real ladies, NOT putting yourself first these days is actually just unacceptable. It doesn’t mean you have to spend money either!
  2. Find another like-minded girlfriend in biz. Meet once a week at the local library for an ‘hour of power’. This isn’t an hour gossip sess, this is a full blown prepared hour of head down and bum up. I do this every week and get a blog written or a newsletter sent. PERFECT!
  3. Schedule in some networking time. Each month find a large event that is happening and one local event. This way you are getting out and about, mingling, reestablishing and making new connections.

Staying upbeat, fit and aligned is definitely the way through the colder months. Because if you rest on your laurels too long, eating pork pies, & faffing about like a cod in the wind… well it will get to December and you would have missed the opportunity to have pitched, created and launched that kick arse xmas bundle….Then you will spend January annoyed at yourself for hibernating during winter. ROAR!

So I’m inviting you to have a chat with me for 30 minutes to see how I can help you get your butt outta bed and become an inspired woman taking Imperfect Action.
