Straight in the eyeballs. Right between your monobrow…Ok now I really have offended you! But asking if you were a course whore or a course junkie is just a smoke screen …aka procrastination!
Girlfriend it is with LOVE that I wanted to get your attention. To share with you that I once was a course whore too…. Forever on alert for the next best way to create an optin list, the next magic bullet that would make me better, faster, richer, and damn go VIRAL!
My head it was full of so many beautiful ideas and yet I failed to launch…Time and time again. So I would find the next best thing.
My biggest lesson has been that at some stage you MUST start to action the learnings. But most importantly give the actions time to actually freakin’ work. Part of the biz journey is that our perceptions, voice and own interpretation of a training will often give a different result. So there will always be test and measurement time when we implement.
However… Our helicopter brain says…”Bucket (use your imagination here) it’s NOT working!”
This post is not meant to dismiss programmes, courses and all that jazz. HECK I offer all of these right! My concern for women in biz is that they spend LESS time on implementing what they have learnt. I am bringing to the table ‘awareness’. The necessary tool for you to observe when you are starting to become overcommitted to signing up to yet another freebie, workshop & once in a lifetime offer.
You are never going to allow yourself the sense of accomplishment of focus. When you focus, implement and water the seeds from the programmes you loved…Then magic blooms!
So how do you do this?
- Decide on a budget for the year to spend on professional development. Your whole energy will shift, plus you will end up buying ONE kickbutt programme OR biz coach (shameless plug!) instead of 10 little things that just leave you in Hopeville!
- Grab your wall planner and after you schedule your holidays (you do that first right?) pop in 3-5 spaces for workshops and study time.
- THEN schedule daily and weekly action time.
You are the answer to your own destiny. You are 100% responsible for your results not the next how to run a webinar course.
